AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving

In a bizarre crossover event that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Disclosed

According to the official release, "An unusual encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of banned practices and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine group.

The mission centers on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Changes

The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Extra Material

Players who finish the quest will obtain an unique katana in addition to several items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Mikasa outfit for Naoe
Unique implements
Survey Corps mount

Newest Free Story Update

This patch also brings the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This signifies scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime properties. The series earlier showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
