Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Beach

A helicopter hovering above a crowded California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling wildly, eventually dropping height and crashing into a line of palm fronds as spectators watched.

Footage shared online depict the helicopter commencing to spiral over the beach then falling near the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palm trees and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.

Emergency Response Update

Local firefighters stated five individuals were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the incident on the weekend.

Three people on the street were injured. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.

The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
